The show aired on October 21 and honestly I was so wrapped up in my hectic, crazy fall season that I never got a chance to blog about it. You can read a bit more about the episode, if you missed it, by clicking HERE

Last Thursday, ABC announced that they were canceling the show and so I felt it fitting that I take a few moments to reflect on all the good that has come of that particular television series. It has helped a lot of families. Their series finale airs January 13 and features a build for families devastated by the Joplin Missouri tornadoes.

I have known this family for several years now and was thrilled to see them again this fall for their family portraits. The boys are just adorable- you can see they get their good looks from Mom and Dad. We had a great time at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. While we did get to see the animals at the Old Maryland Farm, the carousel and miniature train ride were shut down late in the season. But that just gave us more room to wander

Here is a sweet family who I have been photographing now for years- both here in Annapolis and also when I travel to San Diego for photo sessions. I was so happy to finally meet their newest little family member. Dad is in the US Navy and went to the Naval Academy so we found it fitting to do the session on the yard as he is currently away on a 12 month deployment. I can’t imagine how difficult such a long separation is for this family. Having been a military wife myself and been a single parent to an infant and 2 year old for six months, I just can’t imagine double that. I give mom big credit for keeping it all together!

Annapolis newborn photography

It is always a pleasure to watch families grow. I photographed big sister at the same tender newborn age and now the family welcomes a baby boy. He was just the most precious little guy- full of newborn baby smiles and some darling expressions. Congratulations on your new addition!
