While in San Diego, I also got to meet a new friend.  At two, she wasn’t always sure she wanted to do what I, or her parents especially, wanted her to do.  So at times, I think we all felt like we were looking at the top of her head more than her face and I think we’d all agree that we heard the word “no” more than anything else!  But I just have to prove to mom and dad that my “jedi mind tricks” worked- and we did get some adorable expressions and smiles!

She was really enthralled with playing with Elmo and not quite sure why I’d want to try to get her attention and distract her from what really mattered at that moment

But when I did get her attention…

Lucky me! I got to travel back out to San Diego for some photo sessions earlier this month.  Having lived there for 7 years, it is in some ways like going “home” and it was fun to be back in town for a few days.  And even more fun to get to see this precious little girl again.  I saw her last September as well for a photo session at the Hotel del Coronado.

This year we opted for a session at her home which was just the neatest little place with a courtyard in the middle.  We enjoyed some fresh orange juice from their orange trees and apples as well.

I simply love her curls and the little dimples on her elbow and knuckles…

She had her own ideas about how to pose for a family picture…

so sweet…

Completely opposite of the new movie out recently, this dad-to-be is clearly very in love with his wife.  They had amazing chemistry together and I so enjoyed meeting both of them (and cannot wait to meet the little one in August!).

Such naturals in front of the camera, don’t you agree?

What a doll!  I met this little one recently for a 4 month old session. I love the expressions at this age and those full cheeks and arms.  It’s funny- mom didn’t think she was very smiley that day, yet somehow we managed to get some seriously cute smiles out of her!  Isn’t she precious?

Looking for the new faces of Baby Madison!

Barefoot Photography and Baby Madison are joining forces to find some fresh faces!

If you haven’t stopped by the new, hip children’s boutique at 158 Main Street in Annapolis, you really must! They offer an exciting alternative to children’s clothing, featuring eco-friendly, celebrity driven clothing lines with sizes ranging from infant to 7 years.

We will be having a one-day photo shoot with photography by Connie Groah of Barefoot Photography. Connie’s work has been featured in The Big Book of Babies as well as on Babycenter. Participants will be styled by Catharine Incaprera, owner of Baby Madison and Hollywood dresser/stylist for feature films. She has dressed and styled stars including Reese Witherspoon, Jack Nicholson, Owen Wilson, Julianne Moore, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, and Colin Farrell to name a few. Selected photos will be used by Baby Madison for their advertising.

What: Mini-photo session (approximately 20 minutes)
When: August- day TBD
Where: Baby Madison, 158 Main Street, Annapolis, Maryland
Who: Boys and girls ages 18 months to 7 years

There will be a $25 Registration Fee to participate in the photo shoot/model search which will include:

*A chance to have your photos seen on the NEW Baby Madison website
*A $25 gift certificate to Baby Madison
*Prints available for purchase from Barefoot Photography

Please note: ALL participants are required to sign a photo release in order to qualify for participation in this event. This is not a portrait session, but intended to capture images for use by Baby Madison and Barefoot Photography. However, we will get some spectacular shots and they will be available for purchase following the event. There is very limited availability and we will be selecting children of different genders and age ranges, so register NOW!

I met a wonderful family recently who had just introduced a new baby girl to their family.  Big sister was wonderful with her…

She had big beautiful eyes when she was awake (and she really tried to stay awake for the first half of my time there!)

But she did finally give in and go to sleep…

Mom requested an outdoor shot as they have a unique backyard that makes them feel like they are in a forest.  Big sister was walking her baby carriage in the background and somehow the combination reminds me of a fairy tale…

It was wonderful to meet all of you!
