annapolis one year old portraits

I so enjoyed going back to see this little girl who I met for her newborn session last year.  She was just 11 days old then and a year later, she was just starting to get brave enough to walk (though thoroughly enjoyed the practice with a little hand holding!)

They took advantage of my “warm your heart” special I ran in January.  These shortened sessions sure are fun and a great way to capture little slices of your life.

Big sister got in on the action too, though a bit more reluctantly.  She’s a big fan of the Lion King and many of those characters were also interested in joining us.  In truth, I don’t have a way with the stuffed animals, but she did tell me that they wanted to be photographed as well, so I have to believe her.

Sisterly love.  I love how big sis is looking at her baby sister…

She’s here!  I have been looking forward to meeting this baby girl since their maternity photo shoot last month.

Since she had settled in a breech position, mom had her by cesarean so she came right on schedule!  I was a little worried, not wanting mom to be too uncomfortable during the shoot, but she assured me she was ready.  Come to find out- they got home the evening before!  I am honored to be amongst the first to meet their sweet daughter and have to say what a wonderful experience it is to photograph a newborn who is so, well, new.  Granted I do nearly all of my newborn sessions before two weeks old, but truly, the younger the better in my opinion!

Can you believe this smile?  It was actually the first frame I snapped- so sweet.

With her beautiful mama…

And per mom’s request-

She has some big shoes to fill with two wonderful parents.  Lucky little girl!

I met this 16 year old high school junior recently for a portrait session as a surprise for her mother.  What a great idea- what mom wouldn’t love to have beautiful pictures of her daughter?

You’d never know to look at her that it was actually all of about 32 degrees and windy the day we shot these images.  I told her she could model- she never let it show!

I had the pleasure of meeting up with another family I have seen in the past.  I photographed their first daughter, second child, in her baptism gown when she was around six months old as well.  I went back to meet their youngest and capture some fun candids along with some shots of her in her baptism gown.

Isn’t she adorable?  I love that the background, her dress and her little lips all match.

Her siblings decided to get in on the action too!

Here is a close up image of her in her gown.  It is so interesting to see how two sisters can look so different.  I was expecting a huge head of dark, dark hair like her big sis, but she is certainly more fair- but just as cute.

That particular image was also featured in The Big Book of Babies (JC Suares).  Yes, I know the copyright stamp has the wrong date as I just shared that image on my blog last year.  But really, trust me, it was taken 3 years ago!

Thanks for having me back into your home to meet your littlest!  I enjoyed seeing all of you again!
